Social Blood Connects People on Facebook via Blood Type

Those in need of blood donations can now harness the power of social media to help them thanks to Social Blood. Social Blood is a new service that uses Facebook to connect people of the same blood type to make it easier to find an emergency blood donor.

No matter what your blood type, there is never a guarantee that there will be some on hand when needed. Social Blood aims to cut the time needed to fulfill these emergency blood orders by letting folks take to Facebook to seek out donors. All a person has to do to register for Social Blood is visit the website and select their blood type. They will be instantly put into one of eight groups where they can post and respond to requests for blood. According to Karthik Naralasetty, Social Blood's founder, the eight groups have around 1,500 members.
