Mafia Museum

Las Vegas Honors Founding Fathers With FBI's Help

It's an accepted fact that Jewish mobsters Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel and his money man, Meyer Lansky founded Las Vegas. The FBI who pursued them have made it clear they want to play a role in telling their story.

The Las Vegas mayor, a former defense attorney whose clients once included mobsters Meyer Lansky and Anthony "Tony the Ant" Spilotro and had a cameo appearance in the 1995 Robert De Niro-Joe Pesci movie Casino, has made the “Mob Museum” a priority since being elected in 1999. Warren Beatty retold this story in his 1991 film, Bugsy, where he played the title character Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel.
