Believe it or not, photographer Marc Da Cunha Lopes has managed to capture skeletons looking so depressed that they will break your heart. Sure, it sounds crazy to even think that skeletons can look sad. After all, they don't have faces. But in his collection, Vertebrata, Lopes has positioned them gazing longingly out a window, hunched over in a corner, standing in a room covered in rubble, and sitting alone on a public bench. The results are extremely emotional and raw.
Marc Da Cunha Lopes captures the dinosaur and human skeletons in normal, every day situations with a dark twist, demonstrating that simply positioning an inanimate object in a certain way can add a strong sense of emotion to a photograph.
