A series of three French Film Festival posters created by an Australian ad agency have stirred up mixed reactions in online commentary. The most provocative is entitled Kiss, and depicts two faces touching tongues of red, white, and blue.

The other two in the French Film Festival posters series are entitled Bleed, in which a seemingly limp white arm is drizzled with runs of red and blue blood, and Cry, featuring a stark-white face with darkly made-up eyes streaming red and blue tear streaks. In combination with the strong composition and simple message, the colors make a clear connection to the French flag and the origin of the French Film Festival event.
