From September to December I interned at the fastest growing online magazine company *drumroll please* Trend Hunter! I enjoy writing, movies, food and Smallville. I like striking up conversations with new people, so find me on Twitter! I have a habit of researching health and fitness tips online, I really enjoy beauty tutorials on YouTube and I'm a bit of a philanthropist. Helping make the world a better place even by doing the smallest actions -- this is what inspires me and keeps me happy.
What is unique that's not in your bio?
I used to make YouTube vlogs during my first year of university during its strike. I talked about things like disappointing pizza, metalcore concerts and bizarre life experiences.
What's your favorite accomplishment?
Surviving laparoscopic gallbladder surgery!
How do you define cool?
Anyone who takes the wisdom they've gained from their life experiences, and uses it not to make themselves greater but to help others find their way.
What is your secret to uncovering trends?
Refreshing sources constantly and finding new ones weekly. It gets tough trying to filter through the same websites to find something new, so switching it up and exploring a variety of categories really helps.
What do you enjoy most about Trend Hunter?
I love the team, the positive work environment and the friendly competition amongst colleagues. Everyone needs to be challenged to grow and achieve goals beyond their expectations. However, negative competition can really hurt and bring someone down. At Trend Hunter, everyone looks out for each other, supports each other and spurs one another on towards achieving their full potential -- and that's my favourite part about it!
What are your tips for writing a juicy post?
Find something you're passionate about and go to town, remembering to use expressive and creative language! Also, using photographs helps you to go into detail about all the little things you love about the product or idea.
How do you reset to be creative?
Browsing through my sources and Trend Hunter always works. When I see all the crazy good ideas out there, it gets me excited to find my own! Also, any kind of social gathering gets me inspired. Spending time with people I admire and aspire to be like helps motivate my creativity.
What inspires or excites you?
The future, space, amazing places to travel, Pinterest's food posts, chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, great people, weddings, babies, and movies!
Predict something awesome for 2020?
A change in the post-secondary education system that makes it more accessible to students with financial difficulty, and more job opportunities due to businesses changing their structures. :) That would be great... oh... and world peace!
