Workplace Mental Health Platforms

Viatris Inc., a global healthcare company, has recently augmented its global wellbeing initiative by introducing Unmind, a leading workplace mental health solution. Launched as part of the company’s Elevate program, Unmind is designed by psychologists to assist individuals in understanding and proactively managing their mental health. The program aims to empower employees to lead healthier and happier lives. Viatris’ Chief People Officer, Andrew Enrietti, emphasized the importance of mental wellbeing for colleagues, which is a key reason for the introduction of Elevate in 2023. Elevate is founded on the principles of health, purpose, and growth, focusing on nurturing mental and physical health, fostering meaningful connections with colleagues and the community, and encouraging personal and professional development.

The need for such programs is underscored by a scientific brief from the World Health Organization, which reported a more than 25% increase in common conditions like depression and anxiety in the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. This adds to the nearly one billion people already living with a mental disorder. In response to this, Viatris has made it a goal to provide all colleagues with wellbeing resources, including access to mental health tools and support. In 2024, Viatris announced that all colleagues globally would have access to these mental health resources. Sheila Muhl, Viatris’ Head of Total Rewards and Talent, stated that the partnership with Unmind enhances the Elevate program by offering a crucial tool that acknowledges and proactively supports mental wellbeing, reduces stigma, and encourages individuals to fully engage in life.
