I’ve seen a lot of provocative digital illustrations in my day, but none of them come even remotely close to being as visceral or violent as this Yuka Manglo collection.
Featuring characters that, at first glance, might seem naive and sweet, these Yuka Manglo images quickly distinguish themselves as something altogether more intensely serious. From bloody carnage to macabre romantic rendezvouses, Yuka Manglo explores some decidedly sinister subject matter with unbelievable attention to detail.
More than anything else, what is most striking about Yuka Manglo’s artworks is how fearless they are. While they are redolent of Japanese Anime, they reflect the darker side of the genre rather than the decidedly more cheerful and optimistic style that is more commonly associated with it.
