Surreal themes and intricate art styles have become a staple of indie games looking to stand out, but few are as disturbing and beautiful as You Left Me. Developed in 48 hours for LD Compo 41, this game focuses almost completely on narrative as players awake in a different world and are given multiple choices to escape it. The story is largely a mystery until completing the title, but multiple ending elicit repeated playthroughs as players will get to experience the story of You Left Me from many different angles.

The mysterious story of You Left Me may be the driving force for players to push forward but it doesn't stand alone. Combining anime-style artwork with surreal imagery, this game creates a dark and foreboding world that undercuts some of its terror with cute and funny artwork. The surreal images in the game thoroughly manage to convey the psyche of the protagonist and are sure to create a lasting impact on players as they progress through You Left Me.
