As smart technology continues to dominate the industry, nostalgic practices like shooting with film cameras become less prevalent, which is why Yashica's Y35 combines the convenience of modern day technology, with the vintage aesthetics of a film camera.

The beautiful handheld camera, looks and feels like a more classic variation of the picture taking tool. However, the Y35 contains a distinctly modern infusion in that the camera contains a compartment in the back, for 'digifilm' to be inserted in place of a roll of film. Digifilm essentially serve as a "physical plugin" that can add various filters to one's photos. As a result, this digital camera elicits a sense of nostalgia, while serving as a practical tool.
