Bird Buddy Creates the Wonder Blocks for Backyards

Bird Buddy has utilized AI technology to create a compact camera which detects the quick movements of birds and insects in the form of the Wonder Blocks. The system captures footage and is narrated through a mini documentary style.

The design turns the residential backyards into an interactive and entertaining space to better understand local flora and fauna. It also brings closer communication to the animals that often visit. Bird Buddy co-founder and CEO Franci Zidar speaks about the design, "Wonder Blocks is about more than just observing nature — it's about understanding it. Wonder Blocks support the pollinators our ecosystems depend on, and Petal lets you see and hear their stories unfold. This is conservation made accessible, emotional and intelligent."
