Rats on the runway! Very appropriate that Vivienne Tam's Fall 2008 collection paid homage to the Chinese calendar Year of the Rat by putting Minni Mouse on one her creations. It's a sell out because Tam works with Disneyland Hong Kong and helped with their campaign to get tourists from mainland China. Her other creations were colorful blends of luxe fabrics.
Implications - Fashion designs are about style, sophistication and elegance, as is evident by many runway shows from the past; however, with many consumers hoping for more casual wear that's simple and stylish, designers are adopting more of a playful attitude.
