Maria Stromvik is an amateur photographer who only started doing photography in 2009. Stromvik grew up near the sea in southern Sweden and water has been a reoccurring theme in many of her projects.
Her latest collection 'Under Water' is a series of black and white underwater photographs. The pictures in the series are all a little bit different. One of them features a snickering older woman with hundreds of bubbles filling the shot. Another shot is a crystal clear view of an almost angelic blond-haired woman.
Mario Stromvik's underwater portraits are unlike other underwater photographs in that the presence of water is not what leaves an impression; instead it's the daunting facial expressions and striking lighting.
