Origami-Inspired Playful Magnetic Blocks

Artur Tikhonenko Designs the Trido Building Blocks

Artur Tikhonenko designs the Trigo, which is a set of playful building blocks that are most notably magnetic. It is made with inspiration drawn from the look and function of origami, which means that every single unit is a pixel and is able to stack together to create complex shapes. It nods to the geometric structures of Platonic solids, specifically both the tetrahedron and octahedron.

Based on a magnet system, it connects seamlessly to one another and aligns along the edges. Artur Tikhonenko has a deep fascination for plaster casting and origami techniques and when approaching the Trigo, he went through a few prototypes. From there, he wanted to breach biological and organic shapes and ended up highlighting polygons instead.
