The North Face is Launching a 'Trans-Antarctic' Collection

In honor of the first-ever Antarctic dogsled crossing that took place in 1990, the North Face is launching the'Trans-Antarctic' collection that's made from eco-friendly technical garments. The capsule takes inspiration from the monumental feat and includes the Trans-Antarctica Expedition GORE-TEX Jacket -- a jacket who's original version was sold for thousands of dollars recently -- that's made from recycled waste.

Another notable piece from the collection is the Trans Antarctica Fleece Jacket that's made from plastic bottle-derived microfleece materials. It boasts zip pockets and an extended collar for warmth and wind protection. In addition, the Trans-Antarctic collection includes a white t-shirt that is adnored with the image of three members from the International Trans-Antarctica Expedition that was taken by Will Steger.
