The Singapore government is now using Bluetooth devices, named TraceTogother tokens, to integrate people without smartphones into contact tracing efforts. TraceTogotehr tokens will be able to send and receive Bluetooth signals and notify users if they have come in contact with a positive case of COVID-19. The device does not have WiFi or GPS abilities, and it only keeps data for 25 days, which makes it ideal for privacy-focused individuals to participate in contact tracing invites.
If required data from a TraceTogother token can be collected by health care professionals, to inform others if the user contracts COVID-19.
As more people participate in contact tracing efforts, they become more successful. TraceTogother tokens can be used to encourage people without smartphones to participate in slowing the spread of COVID-19.
