It has been announced that the 'Sony PlayStation 5' will feature a design that is much more energy-efficient than previous editions. This is due to sustainability being a design focus for the Sony PlayStation 5, which is set to be released to consumers in 2020. The initiative is due to the fact that Sony has collaborated with the United Nations, in order to focus on sustainability projects.
Specifically, Sony CEO, Jim Ryan, stated that the new gaming console will be equipped with the ability to suspend a game while reducing the power that the console needs. Sony indicates that the new feature will have a significant impact, if it is adopted by one million people it would save enough electricity to power 1,000 US houses.
