A bottle of The General is ridiculously rare for at least two reasons. The first involves the fact that only 1,698 bottles have been produced for an extremely limited run. The second has to do with the age of the scotch whisky. The General is a blend of a 33 year old batch with that of a batch with an unknown age statement. As is written on its webpage, "The provenance of these two parcels, blended together at a young age and then put back into cask for many years, was not important. They had matured into something extraordinary in flavour and were beautifully complementary. "
Created by Compass Box Whisky Co., The General is surprising priced at a relatively affordable 200 pounds (approximately $340 USD). The General is described as "a classic late-night-and-into-the-early morning whisky."
