Google is adding new capabilities to the Chrome Toolbar, with notable additions including a play or pause function, as well as a skip function. Currently, the new function is only available through the Canary development Chrome browser. Canary users can navigate through Chrome to enable 'Global Media Controls,' then restarting Canary will allow users to access the new features.
The controls for the Chrome toolbar are located in a drop-down menu, where users can select media functions. the features will help users who listen to music on the web or want more accessible controls for streaming video. The controls will also help users who wish to mute pop up adds. It is unclear whether the features will be rolled out to other versions of Chrome.
