In recent months, high tea experiences have taken over luxe hotels and dining establishments. In addition to Marie Antoinette-inspired events and gentlemen-only tea ceremonies, these tea drinking rituals are also featuring a fashionable focus.
London’s Berkeley Hotel is home to Prêt-à-Portea, a cafe that now offers an Alexander McQueen branded tea service. In addition to handbag and bikini biscuits, the offering will also feature the late designer's iconic armadillo heel which is translated into an edible, chocolate dessert.
Unlike traditional tea experiences, this Alexander McQueen service is part of the designer's ongoing art exhibition, titled 'Savage Beauty.' The service is inspired by Alexander McQueen's iconic fashions and accessories and will even feature desserts that pay homage to his collaborations with milliner Philip Treacy.
