The Sports Fields photo series gives people a different perspective of traditional athletic areas. Focusing on everything from skate parks to soccer fields and basketball courts, it documents urban areas for outdoor activities. Interestingly enough, the Sports Fields photo series has a mysterious aesthetic about it, which is perpetuated by grey days, dark nights and an overall abandoned context.

Shot by Philipp Lohöfener, a photographer based in Berlin, Germany, the Sports Fields photo series shows off his pension for landscape photography. With an eye for lighting and composition, urban cityscapes provide him with an endless stream of inspiration. In this case, the Sports Fields photo series is filled with unique settings, one of which includes a tree in the middle of a court.
