Created by the Longquan Buddhist Temple just outside of Beijing, China the 'Xian’er' robotic monk is designed to answer spiritual questions about life. Currently able to answer about 20 questions regarding Buddhism, the 'Xian’er' robotic monk is also capable of playing music and chanting to offer users a sense of relaxation.
The adorable 'Xian’er' robotic monk is designed after the likeness of a cartoon monk and features a short, humble aesthetic. The cute robot, as previously mentioned, can only answer a handful of questions at present, but the developers hope to add much more knowledge to the robot's database.
The 'Xian’er' robotic monk offers us a glimpse into what the future might hold with robotics. We might be asking robots our spiritual questions rather than one another to get a more straight-forward answer.
