This Soccer Stadium is Set to Receive a Contemporary Makeover

'Herzog & de Meuron' recently unveiled the final design for the revamp of London's most popular soccer stadium. When it comes to sports complexes, it is important for architects to strike a balance between aesthetics and functionality. The revamp of Chelsea FC's London stadium is part of a collaboration between Herzog & de Meuron and the London architecture firm 'Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands.' The goal of the project is to increase spectator capacity and accommodate an unbelievable 60,000 fans. While also increasing seating, the exterior of the stadium will receive a contemporary makeover. The gargantuan soccer stadium will feature a sculpted exterior made up of large brick pillars. These pillars will extend over the stadium and provide support for the steel ring that is located above the soccer pitch. The design is intended to reflect local brick architecture, while also creating a functional covered walkway around the outside of the building.
