Slam Jam and Salomon are partnering to revamp the ‘XT-4’ silhouette in a new volcanic colorway. The sneaker is inspired by inactive volcanoes found in Italy, channeling its aesthetics through a lava-like mesh upper. The ‘XT-4 Strata’ features a neutral-toned color scheme that is offset by red accents on the tongue tab. The insole is branded with Slam Jam’s signature, and is described in an Instagram post as “inspired by the trails, [and] adapted to the codes of the subcultural urban environments.”
The campaign sees the new sneaker depicted in a series of photos on Mount Etna in Sicily. The Slam Jam and Salomon ‘XT-4 Strata’ collaboration will coincide with Paris Fashion Week, appearing at Slam Jam’s pop-up on June 22.
