Marbles-Inspired Intricate Chair Designs

Shepherd Studio's Tila Chair is Unique and Interesting

The Tila Chair, designed by Shepherd Studio, is presented as a unique and visually captivating piece of furniture. The chair's design concept centers around exploring density—"the studio said that they wanted to personify density as a mediator for possibility"—but the piece is also inspired in part by the traditional game of marbles. Shepherd Studio's creation consists of 210 stainless steel spheres arranged on a tubular frame. This distinctive design approach aims to create openings for shadows and light to interact with the chair's surroundings, making it an intriguing conversation starter. The Tila Chair's exterior boasts an eye-catching chrome finish. Without a doubt, the use of stainless steel spheres adds a touch of modernity and elegance to the chair's aesthetic.

The Tila Chair was commissioned by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca) and was featured at Expo Dubai's Bahrain Pavilion.
