CertifyOS is introducing shared provider credentialing through a national program designed to centralize verification across participating health plans. UnitedHealthcare, Cigna Healthcare, and Centene are among the initial participants, creating a model where providers enter their CAQH ID and required information once rather than repeatedly submitting similar credentials. CertifyOS then handles primary-source verification across licensure states and standardizes credentialing events, establishing a shared source of provider data.
For health plans, the model could reduce duplicated administrative work and the costs associated with independently recredentialing the same providers. Faster verification can also shorten time-to-network, helping healthcare organizations make providers available to members sooner. For CertifyOS, bringing multiple major payers onto shared infrastructure strengthens its position across the provider data lifecycle. The model could become more valuable as additional health plans participate, creating greater efficiencies through a broader credentialing network.

Why This Trend Is Growing
- Shared Credentialing Networks
- Centralized verification ecosystems can reduce redundant payer workflows while creating scalable data utilities for provider onboarding.
- Provider Data Standardization
- Unified credentialing records offer healthcare organizations a foundation for cleaner directories, faster approvals, and more reliable compliance operations.
- Payer Collaboration Platforms
- Cross-plan infrastructure introduces new models for administrative interoperability in markets traditionally shaped by fragmented verification systems.
Industries Being Reshaped
- Healthcare Administration
- Administrative service providers may benefit from platforms that consolidate repetitive credentialing tasks into shared, automated workflows.
- Health Insurance
- Payers gain efficiency potential through common verification infrastructure that lowers recredentialing costs and accelerates network expansion.
- Healthtech
- Digital health infrastructure companies can differentiate by building trusted data layers that connect providers, insurers, and compliance processes.
