Semi-Solid-State Power Banks

Belkin BoostSolid Cells Extend Battery Life in Portable Chargers

Belkin is advancing semi-solid-state power banks with its UltraCharge Pro lineup featuring BoostSolid Cell technology. Unlike conventional liquid-cell batteries, the architecture adds a gel-like layer alongside the liquid electrolyte to support slimmer construction, improved durability, and greater thermal stability. The batteries are engineered to retain up to 80% capacity after 1,000 charging cycles, while dual temperature sensors monitor conditions every 250 milliseconds. The lineup includes 5,000mAh and 10,000mAh models with wireless and wired charging options.

The technology gives Belkin a way to address consumer concerns around battery longevity, portability, and charging safety simultaneously. Longer-lasting cells could reduce how frequently users replace portable chargers, while slimmer designs make higher-capacity power easier to carry. For Belkin, introducing semi-solid-state technology into mainstream accessories also creates a premium point of differentiation as charging brands compete increasingly on battery safety, lifespan, and compactness.
