Pastry-Inspired Sneakers

These Special Saucony Shadow 5000s Pay Tribute to Café du Monde

Two limited-edition Saucony Shadow 5000 styles inspired by the famous Café du Monde have been created by New Orleans-based Sneaker Politics. These food-inspired sneakers are offered in two different colorways, Beignet Brown and Powdered Sugar, both of which offer a decadent way for sneakerheads to show off their love of sweet treats.

While the Beignet Brown version boasts three-tone brown leather suede and flecks that remind of powdered sugar, the Powdered Sugar style embraces the use of white suede, mesh and a powdered tan upper component. Both styles boast bright green soles that pay tribute to the iconic cafe's striped awnings.

On top of being inspired by entire baked goods like croissants and donuts, a variety of sneaker brands are also releasing food-inspired footwear styles that pay tribute to specific ingredients like matcha, wasabi and berries.
