SALAD STAND is a sustainable food vending machine recently launched in Akihabara, Tokyo. The vending machine specializes in healthy salads made with organic and pesticide-free vegetables that are also domestically sourced.
In addition to encouraging more sustainable and healthy eating habits inside urban office spaces -- where its vending machine is currently set up -- SALAD STAND also uses FSC compatible paper and biomass ink for its packaging, while including wooden fork cutlery that is a planet-friendly alternative to plastic.
SALAD STAND was developed by KOMPEITO Inc. in Tokyo’s Shibuya district, specializing in "a vegetable delivery service called “OFFICE DE YASAI (vegetables in the office)." Going one step further with its new vending machine concept, the company aims to make healthy meals more accessible and convenient for consumers leading busy lives.
