Recycled Bathroom Collections

The Roca Ohtake Collection Introduces Recycled PET Bathtubs

The Roca Ohtake collection expands with a compact bathtub and two sculptural basins crafted using sustainable materials inspired by Japanese and Brazilian design traditions. Designed by Rodrigo Ohtake, the new pieces are made from Roca's Stonex composite, which incorporates recycled PET resin to create a durable, warm-to-the-touch surface resistant to wear and discoloration. The bathtub draws inspiration from traditional Japanese Ofuro soaking baths with a compact footprint and integrated seat, while accompanying soy resin accessories include a matching side shelf and multifunctional step stool.

The collection's two basins were developed from hand-sculpted clay models, resulting in soft, organic forms influenced by the shape of a calla lily. Available in finishes including matte black, onyx, coffee, beige, white and terracotta, the designs emphasize sculptural simplicity over conventional bathroom geometries. Continuing the design legacy established by Brazilian architect Ruy Ohtake, the expansion combines sustainable manufacturing with handcrafted forms.
