The Retroid Pocket Vertical is an Upcoming GBC-Inspired Console

Following the worldwide success of its Retroid Pocket 3+ console, Retroid is reportedly developing the 'Retroid Pocket Vertical' handheld with a GameBoy Color-inspired design. The Retroid Pocket Vertical has four face buttons, a D-Pad, a start and select button, and two low-profile digital joysticks similar to the Nintendo 3DS or Retroid Pocket 2. The rear side of the early console render shows four flat trigger buttons to expand the range of playable games on the device.

The Pocket Vertical has a 4:3 aspect ratio screen with an unspecified resolution. This is an excellent aspect ratio for retro gaming, as most consoles up to the PlayStation 1 and GameCube use this aspect ratio or a similar one. The internals, price, and release date of the Pocket Vertical have not yet been confirmed.
