Retro Utopia Photography

Project Astoria: Test 01 by Todd Baxter Focuses on Future Youth

'Project Astoria: Test 01' is a series of retro utopia photography that people who are both enamored with youth and visions of the future will appreciate. Not to mention a nostalgic look are vintage influences as well. As though embracing the neo-retro designs of the 60s and 70s, there is a dated appearance to the images. Yet the retro utopia photography has a definitive charm because of this touch.

Shot by multimedia artist Todd Baxter, the retro utopia photography series "tells a story that revolves around the experiences of children growing up in a an Earth-like world that has recently been colonized," according to Beautiful Decay. Baxter himself states, "I wanted to play with that childlike hopefulness — that anticipation of humans finally mastering our existence and our technology."
