The Armar-6 is an automated retail robot that is designed to lend a much-needed helping hand to repair and maintenance personnel working in the high-tech warehouses of UK-based online market Ocado.
This robot is designed to make human workers' job a little easier by ferrying equipment to them, moving materials to job sites and even taking the lead in tasks that require a level of detail and preciseness that humans can't match. Considering the massive volume of goods that Ocado warehouses deal with, this retail robot could be a godsend in that it can offer help in a range of ways, whether it's providing leverage to help an engineer assemble an item, or moving heavy goods to relieve the strain on warehouse personnel.
While much of the attention surrounding retail robots has to do with customer-facing machines, the Armar-6 is looking to showcase the utility of robots to people who work behind the scenes in large retail warehouses.
