Joy the Baker's Red Velvet Christmas Cupcakes add some color to the dessert niche. While red velvet treats have been preferred for their sweet flavors and cream cheese frosting, the blogger has added a fresh pop of color to the post-dinner snack.
Joy initially introduced this recipe in December in anticipation of Christmas. It is for this reason that she shaped the bites in the form of a tree, pointed at the top and extended along the bottom.
In addition to the red food dye that is required of the batter, she also used green coloring to get this teal hue. The light base of the cream cheese contributed to the airy shade, although the bites are rich in flavor given the eggs, sugar and cocoa powder.
