The Raf Simons Spring/Summer 2022 Range Breach Gender Standards

The Raf Simons Spring/Summer 2022 designs were recently unveiled down the runway and the designer continues to challenge gender norms through fashion designs. The seasonal range takes on an unconventional approach to what is known to be a business uniform.

The range features silhouettes such as A-line dresses, overcoats, pleated skirts, knitwear, blazers, and button-down tops. The pieces are then elevated with street-infused design language, featuring emblems such as graphic visuals and his notable oversized silhouette. Simons spoke to Vogue Runway about the collection, “At the birth of a baby, nobody is approaching it like male or female. It’s just a baby [...] I wanted to work out a shape that works for both in the same way, even if your perception of the girl or the boy dressed in it is different.”
