It has been announced that T-Mobile and the Quibi streaming service will enter into a partnership. As a result of the agreement, 83.1 million T-Mobile customers will be able to access the Quibi streaming service, however, neither organization has indicated how the service will be integrated with mobile plans.
A Quibi Chief Executive, Meg Whitman, spoke on the partnership, "Quibi will deliver premium video content for millennials on a technology platform that is built exclusively for mobile, so a telecommunications partner like T-Mobile, with their broad coverage today and impressive 5G road map, is the perfect fit,”.
It appears that Quibi saw 5G capabilities as an important factor in its partnership with T-Mobile.
