Padel Up, in partnership with Playbypoint and SIUX, built two purpose-built padel courts just steps from the Coachella and Stagecoach music festival grounds in Indio, California. This venture offered a month-long activation from April 9th through April 26th.
Padel Up’s purpose-built padel courts offered bookable court time for first-time players, a mixed pro-am tournament pairing amateur women with elite professionals, a championship-style Clash of the Clubs competition, and skill development sessions led by women champions. The intentional focus on women's participation, in particular, addresses a common complaint in many sports that the competitive pathways for women are limited or that beginner women feel intimidated by male-dominated environments.
Padel Up also integrated with Playbypoint's Game Match feature as part of this sports-inspired experience, which allowed attendees to find local games and continue playing at clubs after they return home.
