Qtonic Quantum is introducing software-only quantum security that lets organizations protect sensitive network connections without installing dedicated encryption hardware. Its QShield runtime operates between compatible Linux endpoints, combining post-quantum ML-KEM-1024 key establishment and ML-DSA-87 authentication with AES-256-GCM packet encryption. Private keys remain on participating endpoints, while a fail-closed design is intended to block protected traffic when required security conditions cannot be maintained. Qtonic also completed a 72-hour endurance test involving 4,107 successful checks with no recorded failures.
The software provides organizations with a way to begin protecting high-value traffic while broader post-quantum migrations remain underway. Using existing Linux infrastructure could reduce deployment complexity for enterprises and government agencies managing financial records, research, clinical information and other sensitive data. Qtonic’s published testing evidence may also help security teams evaluate the technology before expanding deployments across critical connections.
