— May 9, 2026 — Pop Culture
KindaTV — a digital channel from Shaftesbury — is set to debut the Canadian comedy series Pioneer Girl on its YouTube platform starting May 13, 2026.

This six-episode short-form series, with each installment running approximately seven minutes, follows Eleanor, a feminist history PhD who finds herself unemployed from academia after setting her professor's car ablaze because he stole her intellectual work. Her situation forces Eleanor to accept employment at a living history museum permanently stuck in the year 1867 where women possess minimal legal rights.

Created by Davida Aronovitch and featuring a female-led production team, the show stars Kat Barrell alongside Paloma Nuñez, Ishan Davé, and Joelle Peters. The content was shot at The Village at Black Creek in Toronto.
