These Pretty Pink Macarons are Sprinkled in Crushed Up Candy Canes

These pretty pink macarons come in a truly festive flavor. Created by Jessica Merchant from the food blog How Sweet It Is, the dessert recipe turns peppermint bark -- a classic holiday treat -- into a popular French treat.

You will love these pink macarons if you like the combination of mint and chocolate, and especially if you enjoy a "soft yet slightly crunchy outside and fluffy filling inside" sort of texture. You can recreate the peppermint bark macarons at home with ingredients including cream of tartar, egg whites, finely ground almond meal, granulated sugar, peppermint extract, pink food coloring, powdered sugar, salt and vanilla extract. The ganache filling is made with heavy cream, high quality dark chocolate, Lindt white chocolate and either peppermint candies or candy canes.
