Instantaneous Calendar Timepiece

Rolex Unveiled the Perpetual Padellone with a Moonphase Dis

Rolex unveiled the 'Perpetual Padellone,' a complete calendar watch featuring a moonphase disc and an instantaneous annual calendar that updates the day, date, and month simultaneously at midnight. The patented Haplos system distinguishes between 30- and 31-day months, requiring only one manual adjustment per year when February turns to March.

The 39mm watch is available in 18ct Everose gold with a Settimo bracelet or an alligator leather strap, and in 950 platinum with an ice blue dial. Its in-house Calibre 7190 movement beats at 5 hertz and incorporates the silicon Dynapulse escapement, drawing on the 2025 Land-Dweller's groundbreaking 7135 calibre and introducing 30 patent applications, two of which are exclusive to the model.

Rolex's Padellone shows how reviving a nostalgic vintage nickname can anchor a genuinely new complication rather than simply repackaging an old design.
