Outdoor voices' AR app is enabling shoppers to experience a new and exciting retail medium that encourages them to get outside.
The app made its debut at South by Southwest, where festival attendees were invited to leave the grounds and head to a nearby park. The location-specific app works when the phone is pointed toward the ground. As consumers approach different virtual products, the app informs them of the item's details. Those looking to purchase the item can do so directly through the app as it's connect to Apple Pay.
The AR-infused app hopes to embody the company's values of encouraging consumers to shop, while leading active lifestyles. The brand says it plans to further develop this app and eventually release versions that offer more tailored experiences.
