Browser-Integrated Travel eSIMs

Opera Adds Free ESIM and 3GB for Android Travelers

Opera is integrating a travel eSIM directly into Opera for Android, allowing users to arrange international mobile data without downloading a separate provider app. The eSIM provides phone-wide connectivity across 47 destinations and can be installed before departure, then activated upon arrival. Travelers can reuse the same eSIM across multiple countries by purchasing new data plans directly through the browser. Opera is also offering 3GB of free data for three days in selected markets, with no payment details or email required.

The feature extends Opera beyond browsing into travel connectivity, creating another reason for users to remain within its mobile ecosystem. Integrating eSIM purchasing and management could also introduce the technology to travelers unfamiliar with standalone providers. For Opera, paid data plans create a potential commerce opportunity while complementing existing travel-relevant features such as its VPN and data-saving tools.
