The Nudie Jeans Fall 2014 collection and accompanying lookbook is appropriately titled 'Dirty Realism.'
The Swedish denim brand draws its inspiration from Charles Bukowski, a prolific American author whose work is characterized by his fixation on women, alcohol and the unique ambiance of the city of Los Angeles. Specifically, the collection was inspired by Post Office, Bukowski's first semi-autobiographical novel, released in 1971. The book recounts the exploits of his cynical literary alter-ego, Henry Chinaski, and his career as a substitute mail career.
The Nudie Jeans collection translates Bukowski's hard, realistic view of the world into heavy canvas, wool knits and leather pieces. The garments look like they're able to withstand the wear and tear of every day life, that, according to Bukowki, is rather unforgiving. Made up of well-worn denim, muddy browns and dark greens, the collection is sure to become a timeless favorite.
