The novel packaging design was created by Hovercraft Studio as a means of showing off "unexpected ingenuity of the product." True to this concept, the 23-sided box has an origami-style opening that delivers a surprising way to unbox the product.

The special Nike Air Vapormax shoebox design was sent to brand athletes, industry influencers and other notable individuals with a special note from Nike to generate buzz around the global launch of the innovative and equally as eye-catching footwear product.
