The iPhone MORIS App Helps Cops Nab the Crooks
Michael Hines — June 17, 2010 — Tech
The iPhone's MORIS app is helping police officers in Brockton, Massachusetts, identify suspected criminals on the spot. This app will help decrease wrongful arrests on innocent victims.
The MORIS app is installed into a special iPhone that is connected to a statewide database of offenders. All the police need to do is take a picture of the person and within seconds they will know who he/she is and whether they have a criminal record or not. The MORIS app will eventually be used statewide by cops in Massachusetts. It may only be a matter of time before all cops are using the MORIS app.
