Color-Matched Beverage Experiences

Oatly Turns Matcha Into A Personalised Design Experience

Oatly opened Monochrome by Oatly, a 10-day matcha-themed pop-up at Goodhood in Shoreditch that runs from September 3-13. The immersive space is drenched in green and centers on a colour-matching matcha bar, signature matcha drinks and a small collection of designer ceramics. The concept pairs Oatly’s ready-to-drink matcha latte with fashion-forward presentation.

The venue includes a professional colour analyst who recommends a personalised shade of matcha green, and a barista then prepares a bespoke matcha beverage reflecting that palette. The pop-up serves flavour variations such as pear and jasmine matcha and pandan matcha, and a conveyor of limited co-branded merchandise appears in rotation including tote bags, keyrings and soap. Oatly worked with ceramicist Liam Owen on a set of handcrafted matcha vessels finished in a speckled green glaze.

Visitors get a tailored sensory moment that blends beverage ritual with contemporary design and collectible goods. The experience makes matcha a style statement as much as a drink and continues Oatly’s lifestyle-focused product storytelling.
