Fans of off-roading racing shouldn't get too excited by the Mitsubishi L200 Desert Warrior. That's because this rugged pickup is just a one-off concept. However, it does serve as the inspiration for the L200 Barbarian SVP, a special edition truck Mitsubishi is making 250 of. Said inspiration has been given a complete makeover to ensure that it can function as a pre-runner, a truck that conducts pre-race checks of off-road race routes. The Mitsubishi L200 Desert Warrior's modifications include new steel front and rear bumpers, a skid plate and winch up front, and a roll cage.
There are also massive off-road tires that self-inflate and a pair of custom racing seats inside the cabin. The tamer L200 Barbarian SVP makes do with exterior modifications that include 17-inch all-terrain tires, a modified bumper, and additional black exterior accents. The Mitsubishi L200 Desert Warrior is one of the first creations from the automaker's in-house Special Vehicle Projects (aka SVP) team. Given the love consumers have for special edition pickups this likely won't be SVP's last customized L200.
