Midjourney Medical Introduces an Underwater Take on MRI‑style Imaging

Midjourney, the generative AI program and service that turns text prompts into photorealistic images, announced a new healthcare division, Midjourney Medical, and a full-body ultrasound scanner.

Midjourney Medical's first hardware product is the Midjourney Scanner, an underwater take on MRI‑style imaging. Unlike MRIs, which can be genuinely uncomfortable for patients because they need to lie completely still in a narrow, enclosed tube, the Midjourney Scanner introduces an entirely new experience where "[the] body passes through a ring of underwater sensors, each acting like a dolphin, using its echolocation," and the process takes no more than 60 seconds.

The first Midjourney Spa—the AI imaging company's first "research spa" to support mass-scale health scanning—is set to open in San Francisco in 2027, offering hot tubs, saunas, cold plunges and more.
