Maison Margiela and Reebok have collaborated on two new iterations of the ‘Classic Leather’ and ‘Club C’ as a part of their ‘Memory Of’ line. The first version features leather paneling that partially hides a transparent nylon underlay, while an unfinished toe box gives this iteration a rugged look. A standout detail is zig-zag stitching on the interiors, while the rest of the sneaker opts for a minimalist approach through an all-black or all-white color palette.
The second iteration of the ‘Classic Leather’ and ‘Club C’ reimagines the sneakers through a deconstructive lens, drawing inspiration from the idea of familiarity that is still evident within a garment or accessory. In other words, “an echo of something that once was, evoked within the creation of something new.”
