The MB&F HM4 Panda is a Charitable Oddity

I only wish that I had the type of money needed to bid on the new MB&F HM4 Panda. MB&F has teamed with Chinese artist Huang Kanang to create this unique one-off watch which is set to be auctioned off at the 2011 ONLY WATCH charity auction.

The MB&F HM4 Panda is an almost identical replica to MB&F's HM-4 watch, with the one exception being the panda bear that sits atop it. The addition of a panda may seem odd, but there is actually a legitimate explanation behind it. MB&F head Maximillian Büsser was so taken with a painting that Kanang did of a panda bear riding a rocket ship that he purchased it. This inspired Büsser to reach out to the artist to see if he would add his own personal touch to an MB&F charity piece.

The rest, as they say, is history. The panda figurine is made entirely out of 18k white gold and is detachable from the watch. While I have no idea what this watch will go for, it won't be cheap. 18k white gold panda figurines aren't cheap, you know.
